Morgan Wallen Matches His Own Record On The Streaming Chart

Morgan Wallen is the only artist who currently occupies double-digit spaces on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart. The country superstar continues to ride high on the success of his latest blockbuster album, I’m the Problem, as the set is on the verge of hitting two months at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Millions of Americans continue to stream the full-length project in its entirety, while many others are focusing on their favorite cuts from the 37-track effort.

While the spotlight is on I’m the Problem and its many hits, one of Wallen’s older tracks is still performing well enough to rank on the all-genre Streaming Songs tally. As it holds on – just barely – it ties the Grammy nominee’s longest-running streaming win in the United States.

“Last Night” barely manages to hang on, slipping from No. 45 to No. 50 this frame on the Streaming Songs chart. Even as it falls, Wallen’s smash, taken from his previous album One Thing at a Time, reaches an impressive milestone – two full years (104 weeks) on the Billboard list. It’s relatively uncommon for any track to remain among the 50 most-played titles on platforms like Spotify in the U.S. for that long, but this is a feat Wallen has managed before.

“Last Night” is Wallen’s second tune to rack up 104 weeks on the Streaming Songs chart. His former Hot 100 champion is now tied with “Wasted on You” for the honor of being his longest-running success on the roster, as both have logged exactly two years on the list.

When Billboard refreshes its ranking again, it’s possible “Last Night” could fall off, but there’s also a good chance that the tune — one of Wallen’s most recognizable — will return. If it can rack up just one more stay, it will break its tie with “Wasted on You” and become Wallen’s longest-charting hit on the streaming-only list.

Wallen currently claims 11 spots on the Streaming Songs chart. He bookends the tally, with “Last Night” at the bottom and “What I Want,” his collaboration with Tate McRae, ruling at No. 1 for a sixth nonconsecutive frame. He secures a quartet of top 10s, as “Just in Case” and “I’m the Problem” rise to Nos. 3 and 4, respectively, while “I Got Better” dips one spot to No. 8.
