Night 1 Viewer Results Up By Double-Digits On CBS

CBS’ veteran Big Brother returned for season 27 on July 10 with just under 3 million viewers – 2.99 million to be exact, according to Nielsen Fast National data. Comparably, this is 10 percent above the year-ago season one opener (billed as “part one” on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 – 2.76 million) and 27 percent above the part two premiere (on Thursday, July 18, 2024 – 2.36 million). These total audience tallies – last night and last year – do not incorporate the DVR usage.

Since the strength within Big Brother is within the young adult demographics (which, for traditionally older skewing CBS, is a bonus), anticipate growth among 18-34 and adults 18-49 and other categories.

On social media, Big Brother scored in the vicinity of 282m potential social impressions, which was 27 percent above the Thursday, July 18, 2024 telecast. Hashtag #BB27, specifically, trended in the top 10 in the United States on X for more than fove hours, peaking at No. 1.

Note: Potential Impressions are the estimated number of people who might have viewed posts related to this topic. Quid Monitor calculates potential impressions based on followers/fans of original posts and followers/fans of engagements.

Diehard fans of Big Brother, of course, are anxiously awaiting the live 24/7 feeds, which will be accessible on paramount+ Premium and Pluto TV effective on Sunday, July 13 at 9:30 p.m. ET following the second telecast on CBS. In previous seasons, the live feeds would often start on the premiere night. Why the delay? Anticipation, perhaps.
