XRP could be on the verge of a breakout that mirrors its legendary 2017 run, according to prominent crypto analyst DonAlt.
The trader believes current price patterns are starting to echo those that preceded XRP’s explosive 1200% rally to its all-time high of $3.40.
In a cryptic post on July 2, DonAlt hinted that XRP might be entering the same stage of market behavior that led to its historic surge. Back in late 2017, the token consolidated before launching into a parabolic move that stunned the market. He sees signs that a similar setup could be forming now.
XRP is currently trading around $2.60, showing steady momentum after its recent breakout. If price action continues to follow the earlier pattern, a retest of all-time highs may be on the table—especially if broader market conditions support a sustained rally.
While the optimism is palpable, DonAlt cautions that this isn’t 2017, and macro conditions are vastly different. Still, he recently referred to the current setup as “Round 2,” signaling his confidence in XRP’s potential for another major leg up.
Fueling that possibility is the expectation that the SEC could soon greenlight a spot XRP ETF, a move that would give institutional investors a new way to access the token—and possibly supercharge demand.
