Netflix’s fantasy hit The Sandman, starring Tom Sturridge, is back for a second season this week.
The first season of The Sandman premiered on Netflix in August 2022 with 11 episodes. The official summary for The Sandman Season 2 reads, “After a fateful reunion with his family, Dream of the Endless (Sturridge) must face one impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds.
“To make amends, Dream must confront longtime friends and foes, gods, monsters and mortals. But the path to forgiveness is full of unexpected twists and turns, and true absolution may cost Dream everything. Based on the beloved award-winning DC comic series, the second season of The Sandman will tell Dream’s story arc in full to its thrilling conclusion.”
Netflix’s The Sandman Season 2 begins with the release of six episodes on the streamer on Thursday, July 3, at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT. Five more episodes of The Sandman Season 2 will be released on Thursday, July 24, while the series finale will be available to stream on Thursday, July 31.
For viewers who don’t have Netflix, the streaming service offers three subscription options. The basic ad-based package is $7.99 per month for viewing on two supported devices and the standard ad-free package is available for $17.99 per month for two supported devices.
Netflix also offers a deluxe ad-free package for $24.99 per month for four supported devices with 4K Ultra HD programming.

Reviews for The Sandman Season 2 are not yet available. The Sandman Season 1 earned an 88% “fresh” rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics based on 123 reviews.
The RT Critics Consensus for The Sandman Season 1 reads, “While it may hold few surprises for fans of the source material, The Sandman‘s first season satisfyingly adapts an allegedly unfilmable classic.”
In addition, The Sandman Season 1 received an 81% “fresh” rating on RT’s Popcornmeter based on 5,000-plus verified user ratings.
The Sandman series is created by Neil Gaiman, David S. Goyer and Allan Heinberg, based on the DC comic by Gaiman, Sam Keith and Mike Dringenberg.
