FC Barcelona Vs. Real Madrid El Clasico Dates Released By La Liga

La Liga has publicly released the approximate dates that next season’s editions of El Clasico between bitter rivals FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will take place.

By the end of July 1 in Spain, we’ll know the full fixture list of each of the Spanish top flight’s 20 clubs for the upcoming 2025/2026 campaign.

They are being revealed by a live draw still ongoing at the time of publishing, but some key dates such as the Matchday 1 and Matchday 38 games, i.e. the first and last day of the campaign, are already known.

FC Barcelona, which expects to return to the Camp Nou for its annual Joan Gamper Trophy match on August 10 but won’t play a league game there until well into September, will travel to Mallorca on the opening day of the season.

In the capital, Real Madrid hosts Osasuna at the Bernabeu, in what will be new head coach Xabi Alonso’s first official match in charge as his club moves on from the Carlo Ancelotti era.

Come the last day of the season, who knows where the two eternal rivals could be. The league title might already be in the bag for one of them, or even a dark horse that doesn’t come from either side of Spanish football’s great divide.

In any event, Barca will travel to Valencia as Real Madrid is again at home against Athletic Club, whose winger Nico Williams the Catalans are currently trying to sign.

Re: the Clasico, La Liga stays true to form by having the first installment of the fixture in October, on the 26th, and the second in May.

Akin to 2024/2025, Real Madrid will host the first Clasico before the Blaugrana receives Los Blancos at Camp Nou on the weekend of May 10.

Thus far the kick off times aren’t known, though one fixture is usually played at 21.00 local time in Spain while the other is at around 16.15 locally which caters for worldwide markets.

Real Madrid will try to win its first Clasico in a while

After losing four times to FC Barcelona in 2024/2025, twice in the league and once a piece in the Super Cup and Copa del Rey finals, Real Madrid will try to win its first Clasico in a while on Alonso’s orders. Because Barca will head to Asia and Madrid is in the United States contesting the Club World Cup, there’ll be no preseason meeting between the two behemoths prior to October.
