Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” rises to a new peak of No. 177 on the Billboard Global 200, while living … More
Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” has become the band’s biggest hit in the United States in the decades since it was first unleashed. The tune maintains an almost constant presence on several of Billboard’s hard rock rankings and continues to sell and stream well enough almost every week to appear on multiple tallies. It was only relatively recently that the track became a global smash, at least on the charts. Now, it’s bigger than ever.
“Enter Sandman” Rises on the Billboard Global 200
“Enter Sandman” climbs from No. 183 to No. 177 on the Billboard Global 200. Just four weeks into its time on that list — which measures the most consumed songs all around the planet — Metallica’s single reaches a new all-time high point.
Metallica’s History on the Billboard Global 200
Metallica may be one of the most successful bands of all time all around the world, but thus far, the group has only scored two hits on the Billboard Global 200. “Master of Puppets” earned the band its first win back in July 2022. A week after it arrived, that tune rose to No. 20, a position that stands as the outfit’s overall peak.
“Enter Sandman” is nowhere near reaching that placement, and has only spent half as many weeks on the Billboard Global 200 as “Master of Puppets.” It is likely to continue adding to its growing figure as people all around the world consume it non-stop, and the two might tie in a month or so.
“Enter Sandman” Continues as a U.S. Smash
Back in America, “Enter Sandman” is a much bigger hit this frame. The track holds at No. 3 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, which just happens to be its all-time best showing. The single sits in the same position on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales ranking, dipping from the runner-up space to third. “Enter Sandman” has previously ruled the purchase-focused roster several times.
Years of Success on the Hard Rock Rankings
While “Enter Sandman” has only spent about a month on the Billboard Global 200, it has been charting for years on the hard rock lists in America. The track recently passed five years on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs ranking, and in the most recent frame, reached 700 stays on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales list.
