Dua Lipa’s earlier albums Dua Lipa and Future Nostalgia rise on the U.K. charts thanks to her … More
Dua Lipa is currently on tour promoting her most recent album Radical Optimism. The full-length was released in late May 2024, but the promotional period turned out to be surprisingly brief, as the project was easily her least successful in almost every respect.
Despite a somewhat lackluster reception, the singer’s Radical Optimism Tour appears to be selling well, in large part thanks to Lipa’s incredibly strong back catalog. Large crowds are packing in to see her perform the hits they love, while die-hard followers are also interested in the new stuff as well.
As the venture touches down in the United Kingdom, where Lipa is one of the biggest stars in music, fans have gravitated back to two of her three studio albums. Curiously, neither of them is the one the trek is named after.
Future Nostalgia Returns to Multiple Charts
Lipa’s self-titled debut album was a major breakthrough for her, but it was her sophomore set Future Nostalgia that catapulted her to another level. The pop singer became one of the most successful names in the genre worldwide with the Grammy-winning effort, which produced smashes like “Levitating,” “Don’t Start Now,” and “Physical.”
In anticipation of her Radical Optimism Tour, listeners in the U.K. have returned to Future Nostalgia, pushing it to No. 80 on the Official Albums Streaming chart. That uptick in plays was significant enough to impact the main ranking, with Future Nostalgia reentering the Official Albums list at No. 90.
Dua Lipa’s Self-Titled Album Soars
Meanwhile, Dua Lipa, her first full-length, hasn’t had a need to reappear on either tally — but it has climbed. The set rockets 10 spots to No. 42 on the Official Albums Streaming chart and jumps 17 spaces to No. 59 on the Official Albums roster.
Where is Radical Optimism on the Charts?
Future Nostalgia passed 200 weeks on both charts months ago, while Dua Lipa has now spent well over 400 on the same pair of rankings. Amazingly, Radical Optimism is nowhere to be found on any list in the U.K., even though it’s the one she’s pushing with her concerts. That could change soon, as her U.K. shows began on June 20, so the full impact of those early dates in the country will impact next week’s charts.
