Beyoncé’s Masterpiece Returns To The Top 40 Nearly A Decade After Its Release

Each and every one of Beyoncé’s albums has been praised by critics and performed well commercially, but when it comes to earning applause from her peers and the music industry, Lemonade stands alone. The singer’s 2016 surprise project is still regarded as a masterpiece — one that is universally loved nearly a decade after its release.

Now, Lemonade is enjoying another moment on the charts in the United Kingdom, as fans there flock to see Beyoncé perform live on her Cowboy Carter Tour and revisit some of her greatest works.

Beyoncé’s Lemonade is a Top 40 Bestseller Again

Lemonade reappears on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart this week, breaking back in at No. 38. It becomes a top 40 bestseller once again on the ranking of the top-selling titles in those genres across the U.K.

Lemonade’s History at No. 1

Throughout the 172 weeks Lemonade has spent on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart, it has earned nine stays at No. 1, and 80 inside the top 10. The project launched in first place in May 2016 and lived in the uppermost region for months at a time before slowly descending.

Lemonade Hasn’t Risen This High in Years

Amazingly, Lemonade hasn’t been seen on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums list since August 2022. It last appeared in a loftier position than where it currently resides in May 2021 — more than four years ago.

Beyoncé’s half-dozen dates at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, which began on June 5 and end today (June 16), have proved to be enough to excite fans across the country into buying Lemonade in sizable numbers once again.

Cowboy Carter Also Climbs

Of course, the focus this week is on Cowboy Carter, as Beyoncé is still promoting her first country project via her trek – and it’s growing. The Grammy-winning effort appears on five rosters in the U.K. at the moment and climbs on all but one of them. Cowboy Carter only holds steady on the Official Americana chart — and that’s because it has nowhere to go but down, as the set lives at No. 1 yet again.
