Nvidia CEO Commits to Major AI Investments in the U.K.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has pledged increased investment in the United Kingdom’s artificial intelligence sector, describing the country as being in a “Goldilocks circumstance” for AI development.

Speaking alongside Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Investment Minister Poppy Gustafsson, Huang highlighted the U.K.’s rich AI talent base, vibrant startup scene, and supportive environment for advanced computing.

“You can’t do machine learning without a machine — and so the ability to build these AI supercomputers here in the U.K. will naturally attract more startups,” Huang said, adding emphatically, “I’m going to invest here.”

The Nvidia chief cited leading U.K.-based startups such as DeepMind, Wayve, Synthesia, and ElevenLabs as proof of the country’s global prominence in AI innovation. However, he pointed out one missing component: a sovereign U.K. AI infrastructure to anchor the ecosystem.

In support of that vision, Nvidia announced the launch of a new U.K. sovereign AI industry forum. Additionally, cloud providers Nscale and Nebius are set to deploy thousands of Nvidia’s Blackwell GPU chips in new U.K.-based facilities, further accelerating the nation’s AI capabilities.

Huang’s remarks underscore Nvidia’s growing role as a strategic partner in national-level AI initiatives and position the U.K. as a key hub for future expansion in the sector.
