“I Had Some Help” by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen celebrates 52 weeks on the U.K. Official Singles … More
By the time he decided to pivot into country music, Post Malone already boasted a discography filled with huge hits. He first made his name around the world as a purveyor of radio-friendly hip-hop tunes, but then he moved into pure pop and even experimented with rock and alternative sounds.
After months of teasing that country music was on its way, he dropped “I Had Some Help,” a collaboration with Morgan Wallen. The track turned out to be not just a hit, but a career-defining smash for the multigenre musician. As his duet partner launches his new album I’m the Problem, which is currently topping charts around the world, “I Had Some Help” not only remains a commercial success in the United Kingdom, but it also brings both musicians to a very special milestone.
“I Had Some Help” Hits a Full Year
“I Had Some Help” is still present on the Official Singles chart at the moment. It drops a little more than 10 spaces on the competitive tally, dipping to No. 88, as it reaches 52 weeks on the roster.
Post Malone Scores a Second One-Year Winner
Malone earns his second year-long charting smash, as “I Had Some Help” hits 52 frames on the list of the most consumed songs in the U.K. He previously saw “Sunflower,” a collaboration with Swae Lee, spend 68 frames somewhere on the 100-spot tally.
Morgan Wallen Earns His First Such Smash
Wallen earns his first one-year winner on the Official Singles chart. Only two of his other hits — “Last Night” and “Love Somebody” — have managed even double-digit stays on the ranking. “Last Night” is his second longest-charting single with 18 weeks on the roster, while “Love Somebody” is up to an even dozen.
“I Had Some Help” Lives on Multiple Charts
“I Had Some Help” is present on four charts in the U.K., and amazingly, it has spent the least amount of time among them on the Official Singles ranking. The collaboration fares just one frame better on the Official Streaming list, while it has spent 54 frames on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads rosters.
Morgan Wallen Skirts the Rules
Wallen claims four spaces on the Official Singles chart this week. Usually, the Official Charts Company only allows every musician a trio of hits at one time, but in his case, he serves as the lead artist on three of them, as they are all taken from his new album, while he’s a featured act on “I Had Some Help.” Two tunes from his latest full-length debut, as “What I Want” with Tate McRae and “Just in Case” open at No. 32 and No. 75, respectively. At the same time, the title track reenters at No. 79.
