UFC 316 Fight Card Main Event

A rematch between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O’Malley headlines the UFC 316 PPV fight card. In the first meeting between these two, which served as the main event of UFC 316, Dvalishvili scored a unanimous decision win over O’Malley to win the UFC bantamweight title. Dvalishvili’s victory ended O’Malley’s title reign after one defense, a decision win over Marlon Vera.

Dvalishvili (19-4) is unbeaten in his past 12 UFC outings. The current UFC 135-pound champ opened his UFC run with back-to-back losses. Dvalishvili is coming off a UFC 311 decision win over Umar Nurmagomedov.

O’Malley (18-2-0-1) had a perfect 12-0 record before losing for the first time, falling to Marlon Vera in August 2020. O’Malley rebounded from that loss with a seven-fight winning streak before losing to Dvalishvili. He captured the UFC bantamweight title with a TKO of Aljamain Sterling in August 2023.

UFC 316 Fight Card Co-Main Event

The co-main event of UFC 316, Julianna Pena, looks to accomplish what she could not during her first run as the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, successfully defend that title. Pena, who defeated Raquel Pennington in October to claim UFC gold for the second time, has her work cut out for her as she faces former PFL lightweight champion Kayla Harrison in Newark.

Pena (12-5) has been with the UFC since 2013. She captured the UFC women’s bantamweight crown in 2021 with a massive upset win over Amanda Nunes, submitting the reigning champ in the second round of their UFC 269 battle. Pena returned the belt to Nunes in a rematch in July 2022. A third fight between the two was scheduled for 2023, but that bout fell apart when Pena was injured during her training camp.

Pena returned to action in 2024, taking the bantamweight title from Raquel Pennington, who claimed the vacant title after Nunes retired.

Harrison (18-1) joined the UFC in 2024 following a successful run in the PFL, where she was a two-time lightweight tournament winner. Harrison, a two-time Olympic gold medal winner in judo is 2-0 in the UFC, most recently beating Ketlen Vieira by decision. Harrison scored a submission over former UFC champion Holly Holm in her UFC debut.

UFC 316 Fight Card: Patchy Mix Debuts With UFC

Patchy Mix (20-1) comes too the UFC following his release by PFL. The 31-year-old Mix is riding a seven-fight undefeated streak. He won the interim Bellator bantamweight title in April 2023 with a knockout victory over Raufeon Stots. Then, in November 2023, Mix unified the Bellator 135-pound titles with a submission victory over Sergio Pettis. In his most recent outing, Mix defended his crown with a split decision win over Magomed Magomedov in May 2024.

Mix’s only professional defeat came in September 2020 when Juan Archuleta defeated him via unanimous decision in a contest for the vacant Bellator bantamweight crown.

Mario Bautista (15-2) has been with the UFC since 2019. The 31-year-old opened his UFC run with a 2-2 record, but he is unbeaten since early 2022, with a run of seven straight wins. In his most recent outing, Bautista defeated Jose Aldo via split decision at UFC 307 in October 2024.
