AI-driven video creation startup Hedra has announced a successful $32 million Series A funding round, led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). As part of the investment, Matt Bornstein will join Hedra’s board of directors.
The round also included participation from existing backers such as a16z Speedrun, Abstract, and Index Ventures, reaffirming investor confidence in Hedra’s vision to make character-driven video creation effortless for teams and creators alike.
Launched out of stealth just last year, Hedra has quickly made its mark. The platform has already been used by nearly 3 million users to create over 10 million videos, ranging from marketing campaigns to video podcasts, tutorials, and more.
Fueling Growth and Innovation
With the new capital, Hedra plans to accelerate product development, enhance user experience, and scale its team deliberately and efficiently.
“This new round helps us keep building toward that vision — fast, expressive, intuitive content creation that actually fits how teams work today,” the company stated in its announcement. “We’ll move faster, stay focused, and grow the team with intention.”
A Future for Effortless Storytelling
By combining generative AI with intuitive design, Hedra is carving out a niche in the fast-growing creator economy. With strong backing and product-market momentum, the company appears poised to become a major player in the future of collaborative, character-driven content production.
