Florida Teens Charged in $4 Million Cryptocurrency Kidnapping Case

Three teenagers from Florida are facing serious allegations following a brazen gunpoint kidnapping in Las Vegas, which resulted in the theft of approximately $4 million in cryptocurrency and digital assets. The suspects, identified as Belal Ashraf and Austin Fletcher, both aged 16, along with a third accomplice, have been charged with robbery, extortion, and kidnapping. Notably, the juvenile court has deemed Ashraf and Fletcher suitable for adult prosecution based on the severity of the charges.

Prosecutors revealed that the incident occurred after the victim attended a crypto event in downtown Las Vegas last November. Upon returning home, he was forcibly entered into a vehicle by the assailants who were armed and demanded access to his financial accounts. The victim was reportedly threatened with harm to his family if he did not comply.

The ordeal escalated as the victim was driven over 70 miles to the remote White Mountains in Arizona, where he managed to escape and seek help after walking several miles alone. This incident underscores the growing risks associated with digital asset ownership and the darker side of the cryptocurrency landscape.
