Fleetwood Mac Rank Among Today’s Hottest Stars With A Vinyl Bestseller

The first quarter of 2025 is in the books, which means it’s time to start taking stock of the year’s biggest music successes — at least so far. In the United Kingdom, the Official Charts Company has compiled a list of the 40 bestselling vinyl albums in the country, and many of the top spots go to current pop stars and beloved rock acts. Taylor Swift, Sam Fender, and Lady Gaga are all well-represented near the top, which is exactly what someone who watches that sector of the business might expect. But there’s one name included inside the top 10 that stands apart, and it’s not a new release.

Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours doesn’t just make the cut, it rockets in at No. 8 on the tally, showing once again that the project might just be the most successful vinyl title in modern history. The record has been a mainstay on bestseller lists for years, and somehow, even after countless reissues and decades of consistent sales, fans are still snapping it up in droves.

It’s the only catalogue title to break into the top 10 on the U.K.’s list of bestselling vinyl albums this year. That makes its presence even more impressive, especially when surrounded by hot new releases.

Fender leads the ranking with his People Watching, while Chappell Roan, Gaga, and Sabrina Carpenter — all female pop favorites with devoted fan bases — claim spots inside the highest half the upper tier. Swift, who has made vinyl a key part of her marketing and fan engagement strategy, also naturally earns a space near the front of the pack, as well as several on the entire roster.

Despite being more than 45 years old, Rumours is still performing incredibly well across the pond. In fact, it shows up on half a dozen separate rankings in the U.K. this frame alone. It’s currently present inside the top 40 on nearly all of them, with vinyl sales leading the charge. Right now, Rumours sits at No. 19 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart, making it one of the oldest entries on that list.

Fleetwood Mac released Rumours in 1977, and it quickly became both a critical and commercial juggernaut. The project spun off some of the band’s most iconic singles, including “Go Your Own Way,” “Don’t Stop,” and “Dreams,” each of which helped define an era of pop rock. Widely regarded as one of the greatest albums ever made, the full-length has managed an incredibly rare longevity, as it’s still hugely popular to this day.
