In a candid interview during his recent visit to Pakistan, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao—widely known as CZ—shared his bold vision for Bitcoin’s long-term potential and how he believes governments will soon enter the crypto accumulation race.
When asked whether Bitcoin could realistically reach the $1 million mark, CZ responded without hesitation: “Yes, I believe it will happen.” He was quick to clarify, however, that such a monumental price level won’t be achieved overnight.
“We’re still in the early stages,” he said, emphasizing that the crypto market, while growing rapidly, remains relatively young. “Good things don’t happen overnight. It takes time. Most people underestimate what can happen in 5–10 years.”
CZ’s comments echo a sentiment increasingly shared among long-term Bitcoin holders who view BTC as more than just a speculative asset—but rather, a future global reserve.

Governments Could Compete for Bitcoin Reserves
Beyond price speculation, CZ spoke about a future geopolitical trend: nation-states racing to buy Bitcoin as a strategic reserve.
“The U.S. has already made it clear that it treats Bitcoin as a reserve asset. Other countries won’t want to be left behind,” he said.
According to CZ, wealthier and more financially stable nations will likely move first, acquiring large BTC holdings as part of their sovereign reserves. This, in turn, could send the price skyrocketing—and put latecomers at a disadvantage.
As part of his new role as strategic advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council, CZ’s comments may carry particular significance for countries looking to modernize their financial systems through digital assets.
