US President Donald Trump announced the addition of XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA) to his cryptocurrency reserves announcement on Sunday, in addition to Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
While this announcement made a big splash in the cryptocurrency market, it also faced a lot of criticism. While important names stated that the reserve should consist of Bitcoin, they think that XRP, SOL and ADA should not be included.
As the crypto market waits to see if Congress will support Trump’s reserve plan, speculation is growing about which other altcoins will be included.
While Trump’s first picks are clearly US-based altcoins, the guest list for the upcoming White House Crypto Summit is expected to hint at possible additions to the reserve.
At this point, CryptoRank listed possible altcoins that could be added to the US reserve, other than XRP, ADA and SOL, in its analysis.
Accordingly, CryptoRank stated that it is unlikely that TRUMP and other memecoins will be part of the reserve, and that US altcoins with strong fundamentals such as Chainlink (LINK), Litecoin (LTC), Polkadot (DOT) and Hedera (HBAR) are likely to be selected.
Chainlink (LINK)
With Fox Business correspondent Eleanor Terret confirming that Chainlink founder Sergey Nazarov will attend the White House crypto summit, the possibility of LINK being included in the reserve has been strengthened.
Additionally, last week, the Chainlink founder met with Congressman Tom Emmer and Bo Hines, the Executive Director of the President’s Digital Assets Task Force, leading to speculation that LINK would be added to the reserve.
Litecoin (LTC)
Litecoin is one of the altcoins that is likely to be included in the US crypto reserve due to its similarities to Bitcoin. Litecoin also has an ETF application pending with the SEC. These factors increase the likelihood of LTC being added to the reserve, while the SEC has never considered Litecoin a security, making LTC an ideal choice for the reserve.
Hedera (HBAR)
Hedera could also be one of the altcoins in the reserve. It is thought that the ETF application for HBAR to the SEC and being US-listed is an ideal choice for the reserve.
Polkadot (DOT)
While there is also an ETF application for Polkadot, it remains unclear whether Polkadot founder Gavin Wood has been invited to the White House. If Wood attends this summit, DOT’s chances of being selected, even as a reserve, will increase.
CryptoRank noted that, apart from these four altcoins, Avalanche (AVAX) also meets all the criteria to be selected for the reserve, but it is still not included in the reserve.
Finally, it was stated that the altcoins named SUI, Filecoin (FIL), Aptos (APT), NEAR and MOVE gained momentum after receiving an invitation from the White House. For now, it is evaluated that the probability of these altcoins being added to the reserve is low.
BIG Winners of US Crypto Policy 🇺🇸
Since Trump’s election, $XRP and $ADA have emerged as key winners, while $SOL is also well-positioned following hints of its inclusion in the US strategic reserve.$AVAX meet all criteria but are still awaiting recognition, while $SUI, $FIL,… pic.twitter.com/EGipXe2MXH
