Cardano Light Wallet Launches Daedalus 7.1.0 Update

The latest Cardano news features the new update that the Light Wallet Lace has welcomed, featuring Daedalus, the full-node wallet for the ecosystem.

In a new X post from February 28, Lace announced, “Daedalus 7.1.0 is here.” The latest iteration upgrade has a few new features, specifically security and bug fixes.

Latest Cardano News Features Lace Daedalus 7.1.0

Based on its design of offering downloads and validating the entire Cardano blockchain, Daedalus attempts to provide maximum security but falls short because of the need for more resources.

Integrating security and bug fixes into the protocol demonstrates Cardano’s dedication to improving its infrastructure.

The security enhancement feature on Daedalus 7.1.0 protects users and developers by providing updated cardano-node and cardano-wallet that can mitigate potential DoS risks that could come after the Plomin hard fork.

It’s been almost one month since the Plomin hard fork, which introduced decentralized governance to the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain network, went live.

In addition to security enhancements, the new upgrade offers specific bug fixes, including CIP-129 DRep ID support and a macOS 10.15 dynamic library fix.

Platform users are excited about adding these extra features, with many expecting a suitable Android version.

One X user acknowledged that Daedalus 7.1.0 reflects the Cardano community’s commitment to delivering security and usability.

The same user described Cardano’s move with the upgrades as a way of “fortifying the future.”

The Lace Wallet has evolved significantly recently, growing according to its roadmap.

The launch of Daedalus 7.1.0 is only one of the series of improvements and upgrades that Cardano Lace has welcomed in the past few months.

In 2024 alone, it debuted features like full-node support, similar to Daedalus, multi-signature shared wallets, and mobile functionality.

This year has not been any different for the wallet regarding upgrades and amendments.

Only last month, the new Lace Wallet version 1.19.0 was released to enhance Cardano’s performance and compatibility. It would achieve this through improvements to its speed and versatility.

Lace v1.19.0 was accompanied by the DApp Explore, which gives users easy access to and connection to their favorite decentralized applications (dApps).

Generally, the Cardano ecosystem is confident in the strength of the Lace wallet, which was recently tested.

Seven months ago, Charles Hoskinson, Cardano founder, challenged hackers to penetrate the security of the PGP-encrypted paper wallet if they can. He attached a bounty reward of $1 million for anyone successful.

Until the challenge ended, no one devised a strategy to break the security of the protocol’s flagship Lace Paper Wallet. This marked a significant milestone for the Cardano network and the broader blockchain ecosystem.

Role of Lace in the Cardano Ecosystem

Judging by Lace’s accolades to Cardano, it is certainly not out of place to categorize the wallet as a core part of the blockchain.

On its part, the Cardano ecosystem is already tilting towards more accessible solutions, and Lace is one of them. It continues to deliver value to members of the Cardano community.

Its version 1.12 has a feature that helps users to multi-stake their ADA. Users’ assets can easily be delegated to multiple stake pools while circumventing the need for fund partitioning across multiple accounts.
