Cathie Wood, CEO and CIO of ARK Invest, confirmed her bullish outlook on Bitcoin, stating that it is becoming increasingly plausible for BTC to reach a valuation of $1.5 million by 2030.
Speaking as part of ARK Invest’s “Big Ideas 2025” presentation, Wood cited Bitcoin’s expanding institutional adoption as the key driver of this potential price rally.
Wood noted that more institutional investors are now considering Bitcoin as a strategic asset in their portfolios. Bitcoin’s return profile and risk characteristics differ significantly from traditional asset classes, making it an attractive hedge and store of value, Wood said. As financial institutions integrate Bitcoin into their asset allocations, Bitcoin’s long-term value proposition is also strengthening.
“The institutionalization of this new asset class is accelerating,” Wood said. “Many institutional investors are recognizing the unique characteristics of Bitcoin and the need to add it to their portfolios.”
Beyond Bitcoin’s price increase, Wood pointed out that the digital asset ecosystem is expanding rapidly, particularly the use of stablecoins. He explained that stablecoin transaction value reached $15 trillion last year, surpassing Visa and Mastercard in overall transaction volume. By the end of the year, the annualized run rate for stablecoin transactions had nearly doubled to $30 trillion, demonstrating the growing importance of digital assets in global finance.
While Bitcoin remains a major focus for ARK Invest, Wood also highlighted the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and space exploration, noting that AI is driving productivity across industries, from software development to pharmaceutical research, where AI-driven drug discovery is increasing productivity tenfold.
