Bitfinex Securities Plans to Launch Tokenized Products in El Salvador

• Bitfinex Securities plans to launch Blockstream Mining Note2 in El Salvador in 2025. 
• Tokenized US Treasury Notes are already launched in El Salvador in 2024. 

Bitfinex Securities is preparing to launch tokenized financial products in El Salvador this year. In particular, this digital securities exchange is planning to launch its successful tokenized financial product Blockstream Mining Note2 (BMN2) in Q1 2025. 

During the interview with Diario El Salvador, Head of Operations of Bitfinex revealed this news to the audience. The aforementioned tokenized product BMN2 offers exposure to Bitcoin mining to its investors. Investors of the BMN2 product will get returns based on the Bitcoins mined by the Bitcoin mining firm Blockstream.

Blockstream Mining Note 1 (BMN1) was the first version of this product and issued in Luxembourg. Within a three year period, its investors received a total of over 1,212 BTC worth more than $70 million, which amounts to over 108% returns. 

Bitfinex Issued Tokenized US Treasury Bills in El Salvador

Bitfinex Securities issued tokenized US treasury bills in El Salvador in November 2024. This offering included the issuance of a new token by El-Salvador-based digital asset issuer NexBridge Digital Financial Solutions. It marks the first regulated offering of a tokenized US Treasury bill, using Bitcoin technology. 

“We want to have BMN2 listed on Bitfinex Securities in the first quarter of the year, and it will be issued from El Salvador. BMN2 is one of the few tokenized products that have a history, and investors can see the results of BMN1. This will be a direct issue on our platform, and investors will be able to buy and sell on it,”

says Jesse Knutson, Bitfinex Head of Operations. 

The tokenized financial product combines traditional financial industry with blockchain industry, involving Bitcoin mining. It not only bridges the gap between TradFi and blockchain but also acts as a unique financial instrument to diversify investment portfolios.
