Bitwise, CoinShares File Dogecoin ETF with Delaware

As the U.S. crypto industry embarks on a new chapter, Bitwise and CoinShares have filed to register a Dogecoin ETF with the State of Delaware. This follows Ripple (XRP) and Solana ETF filings, which remain under regulatory consideration.

Dogecoin ETF Filed

According to the Delaware Division of Corporations, Bitwise recently filed documents to register the “Bitwise Dogecoin ETF,” over a month after CoinShares applied for its Dogecoin ETF. CoinShares’ filing, submitted on December 10, 2024, lists CSC Delaware Trust Company as the registered agent. Bitwise’s filing, however, was confirmed on January 22, 2025.

Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart clarified: “Please note, this is just a trust registration and is still not the formal ETF filing with the SEC. At least not yet.”

XRP, Solana, BONKS , TRUMP ETF Waiting for Approval

The Dogecoin ETF filings come as a surprise, given that XRP and Solana ETFs have been vying for official approval for some time. Additionally, the CME Group reportedly plans to launch futures ETFs for XRP and Solana on February 10, pending regulatory approval.

This surge in ETF filings is undoubtedly driven by expectations of favorable outcomes due to leadership changes at the SEC. Paul Atkins is set to assume the role of SEC Chair, while crypto-friendly commissioner Mark Uyeda continues as Acting Chair. These developments have encouraged several firms filing for ETFs in anticipation of approvals.

For instance, Rex-Osprey has also submitted filings with the SEC for Dogecoin ETF, BONK ETF, and even a TRUMP-themed ETF, which underscores the growing movement in crypto ETF applications.
