Current U.S. President Joe Biden addressed the benefits and risks associated with artificial intelligence.
“Artificial intelligence is the most significant technology of our time. Probably nothing offers deeper opportunities and risks for our economy, security, and society,” the politician began his speech in the context of AI.

He added that neural networks have the potential to cure cancer; however, without proper precautions, the technology “threatens our way of life, privacy, jobs, and national security”.
“In the age of AI, it is crucial for people to manage it. And as a country of freedom, America, not China, should lead the development of artificial intelligence,” Biden stated.
Among the threats, he also highlighted technology companies. According to him, social media platforms are abandoning fact-checking, the free press is being undermined, and editors are disappearing.
The president’s speech summarizes his achievements in office and outlines key steps for the future administration.
It is worth noting that in January, the Biden administration imposed new restrictions on the import of computer chips developed in the U.S. in an effort to prevent other countries from accessing advanced technologies.Later, the president issued an order to provide federal support to meet significant energy needs required for the operation of data centers that support artificial intelligence functionality.
