Three meme coins have become the top gainers today among the volatile crypto market, surpassing the performance of 97 of the top cryptocurrencies by market cap. Attracting the interest of traders and meme coin aficionados both, these tokens—GOAT, POPCAT, and MEW—each saw notable double-digit percentage rises.

According to CoinMarketCap, GOAT jumped 25.97% in the past 24 hours at the time of writing, POPCAT followed closely with a rise of 12.71%, and MEW saw a 10.53% increase during the same period.

The fact that none of the dog-themed meme coins—which usually predominate in these kinds of rallies—appeared on the top gainers list stands out in the movements of today. Rather, the popularity of cat-based tokens has been evident, and cat-based tokens like POPCAT and MEW have led the way.

GOAT, POPCAT, and MEW Gain Momentum with Strategic Market Moves 

According to CNF, Marc Andreessen’s $50,000 Bitcoin gift to Truth Terminal not long ago served as impetus for GOAT’s explosive ascent. Rising more than 8,000% in just a few days, this AI-driven meme coin had an unheard-of surge in value before finally valued at $700 million.

Though artificial intelligence bots did not create the GOAT token directly, their support and later excitement drove its value from a meager market cap of just $5,000 to over $214 million in a short period.

Another top gainer that has caught attention for notable expansion is POPCAT. With notable meme coin investor Murad Mahmudov projecting a positive view, the meme coin might soon top the $5 mark thanks to its robust foundations, as we previously highlighted. As investors seek to profit from POPCAT’s increasing momentum, this projection has piqued curiosity in the instrument.

Also, MEW has quietly acquired popularity meanwhile. Lately, it became the third meme coin to land a trading pair with the Korean Won (KRW) on Upbit, the top crypto exchange in Korea.

Only DOGE and SHIB were available for trading pair KRW before MEW, therefore introducing MEW into a new market niche and raising its profile among Korean traders.
