The unannounced Nintendo Switch game was leaked online. The leak contained images and details that quickly spread across social media platforms and forums. The leaker scraped the information ahead of the official Nintendo playtest, which is set for October 23rd.
Nintendo had initially asked the users not to disclose the mysterious Nintendo Playtest when they signed up for it. The documentation mentioned, “that you do not discuss or disclose content from either the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program test software or website with others.” However, no one took the request seriously.
The users were able to download the images that weighed 2.2GB before the test officially began.
A Twitter user @Ethan_ThisGuy kickstarted the leak on October 21st. He posted images downloaded from the playtest website which he had access to.

Nintendo had acted fast to get these images down through copyright claims. This has however confirmed the legitimacy of these leaks. The details are also now widely available.
Nintendo’s game details have widely spread, despite the efforts to undo the leak
The leak has exposed the social MMO hybrid game. In this, the players will be able to create a planet through farming resources and developing on their own personal lands.
Players will be using “Beacons” to purify and heal the land, while also building personal and public spaces for collaboration in the gameplay.
The game also incorporates a “Dev Core” hub. Here, the players will increase their levels, collect different items, and also interact with each other. Players will be able to earn points on the basis of socializing and land development.
The upcoming Nintendo game is focused on highly user-generated content. However, the players are required to pass the unique in-game tests for respectful communication for the UGC License which will allow them to create and share the content with the rest of the community. The game also included a report feature for players to address any potential misuse of UGC.
Since this game is server-based, Nintendo has recommended accessing the game in TV mode with a wired connection. Although the game will release on the current Switch, it is not clear whether it will also be available for the speculated Switch 2, which is also waiting on an official announcement.
The play test for the game will be going live in a couple of days on October 23rd. There are expectations for more details to appear even though Nintendo is hard on taking the leaks down.
