Uptober’s team has accused crypto influencer Jaypeg of orchestrating a memecoin scam. They claim that Jaypeg received promotional tokens, sold them, and then denied ever receiving any funds.
Memecoin Uptober’s team collaborated with influencer Jaypeg to help promote its tokens. They claim Jaypeg was meant to earn 2% of its supply, roughly $2200, in exchange for his promotional work.
The memecoin project explained:
On October 11, we reached out to Jaypeg for promotion, asking him to push Uptober. We messaged him on X and agreed to discuss everything in a Telegram group.

The influencer accepted the offer in a Telegram thread and received the payment. However, the rosy partnership went down in flames when Jaypeg refuted receiving funds.
The memecoin team claimed the influencer had received funds but then promptly deleted the receiving address sent to their Telegram group, unaware that the deleted messages could be restored. Later, he asserted that the address sent was “random” and not tied to him but proceeded to sell off the tokens.
The memecoin influencer also alleged that the Uptober team was trying to blackmail him. In a public apology, he claimed to have donated funds to a charitable organization, which provoked public backlash from the X community.
Some claimed he faked the charity receipt, while others believed he made the donation to make people forget his shortcomings with Uptober. Moreover, he tried to distance himself from his promotional agreement with the memecoin, affirming he wants nothing to do with it after its team continued to follow up on the matter.
Uptober seeks help from ZachXBT to investigate Jaypeg
Uptober’s team enlisted the help of crypto investigator ZachXBT to look into the issue and publicly shared screenshots of their conversations with Jaypeg on X.
The on-chain sleuth ZachXBT found multiple pieces of evidence disputing the influencer’s claims. The investigator discovered that the address that received approximately $2,200 in the tokens, starting with “8jpz1p,” matched the one that claimed airdrops from the Solana Saga smartphone on January 10, 2024, just hours after Jaypeg shared a Solana Saga unboxing video mentioning those airdrops.
