NiceHash, the marketplace for Bitcoin hashing power, has unveiled the inaugural firmware tailored specifically for mining on the Kaspa network. The specialized Kaspa software can potentially boost ASIC performance by as much as 20%.
Engineered for equitable mining, Kaspa merges minimal energy usage with robust decentralization and extensive scalability. The network leverages the innovative GhostDAG protocol, enabling the coexistence of multiple blocks alongside its distinctive PoW design, making it an attractive option for solo miners. This setup allows them to optimize their earnings by utilizing NiceHash firmware.
NiceHash has rolled out firmware for Kaspa that seamlessly integrates with the Antminer KS series of ASIC miners. It enhances efficiency by reducing power usage while boosting hashrate. Smart thermal protection, on the other hand, safeguards devices from excessive heat buildup. The firmware is compatible with the Antminer KS5 Pro, KS5, KS3 (9.4 TH), and KS3 (8.3 TH) models.
Most Kaspa Antminer models are equipped with CVITech control boards, which lack the capability for persistent custom firmware installations. NiceHash has developed an innovative solution to address this issue. To deploy the Kaspa firmware, users must first link the Cracker Card, a hardware accessory that interfaces with the CVITech control board. Upon establishing a connection, it facilitates the over-the-air deployment of tailored NiceHash firmware for Kaspa on ASIC devices operating with standard firmware.
Miners leveraging NiceHash Firmware for Kaspa face a variable fee structure that fluctuates between 1% and 4%, depending on their hardware’s overclocking capabilities. This guarantees an equitable pricing model for Kaspa miners, enabling them to leverage the specialized Kaspa firmware for mining via NiceHash pools.

NiceHash has rolled out comprehensive guides tailored for Kaspa miners to facilitate the upgrade of their ASICs by integrating custom firmware. The release comes on the heels of NiceHash Firmware, explicitly crafted for Bitcoin miners aiming to enhance the efficiency of their ASIC devices and boost their revenue streams. The inaugural firmware release is not tailored exclusively for Bitcoin, but the Kaspa solution crafted by NiceHash offers enhanced incentives for miners to engage with its pools while reaping the rewards of optimized ASIC performance.
