Pokemon Go reveals Battle League update details for new season

Pokemon Go will begin the New Battle Season on 3rd September. In addition Pokemon GO shared fresh information for trainers that included new cups, participation criteria and rank up rewards.

Niantic shared the detailed schedule about what the players will be seeing in the coming months in this new Pokemon season. As many players requested, Pokemon Go will include more Galar Pokemon in the wild mostly. Furthermore, players will finally see Dynamax forms.

Pokemon Go announced there will be 11 new cups for players. Different conditions were set on these cups. Only critters from the Pokemon Sword and Shield Dex with 500 CP will be allowed in Galar Cup.

On the other hand Catch Cup: Great League Edition will allow monsters that trainers caught during the Max Out Season with 1500 CP to enter. In the Sunshine Cup players can only use Normal-, Ground-, Grass- and Fire type except Charizard. While Retro Cup doesn’t include Dark, Steel- and Fairy-type. 

Pokemon Go players will encounter Pikachu Libre as they rank up

When players ascend their ranks they will get a definite chance to encounter the famous Pikachu Libre, followed by the encounters with Haunter, Jangmo-o, Frigibar Dragonite and Galarian Yamask. There will be standard encounters for players depending on their rank. For example, the players with rank 20 will encounter three star raid bosses. 

Players can also unlock new avatars as they rank up. There will also be a new time research available via pass. Moreover 10 seconds will be reduced in the switched timer making it 50 from 60 seconds. The different attacks will include buffs and nerfs. Hariyama and Togetic will get new abilities as well.

A GO Battle Weekend: Max Out event is also included in the schedule. The event will start on November 2nd till 3rd, 12 am to 11:29 pm local time. This weekend players will get a themed Time Research and can earn 4x Stardust for their wins just like previous seasons. Players can also get 30,000 Stardust in a Timed Research for $1 USD. This also includes Rare Candies and a Start Piece for completion.
