Federal prosecutors have charged Michelle Bond, the domestic partner of former FTX executive Ryan Salame, with violating campaign finance laws. Bond, who was a former Ripple executive unsuccessfully ran for a congressional seat in New York last year, and allegedly used $400,000 from FTX to finance her campaign. Salame allegedly arranged a $400,000 payment from the exchange that was totally used to fund Bond’s unsuccessful campaign. Bond ended up receiving $400,000 as part of her ‘consulting agreement’ with the FTX exchange, while she did not perform any services in exchange.
