Farcaster, a decentralized network for social media applications, has witnessed a remarkable surge in daily active users following the launch of the ‘Frames’ feature on the Warpcast application.
According to Dune, daily active users on the Farcaster network grew from approximately 1,600 at the start of the year to around 13,300 as of February 4.
The influx of new user activity has been attributed to the popularity of Frames, a new innovation that allows users to engage with external links and applications without leaving the Warpcast app.
Frames have enabled users to mint NFTs, make transactions, claim tokens, read external blog posts, and answer surveys seamlessly within the Warpcast interface.

The volume of new daily “casts,” similar to retweets, has also surged, reaching over 161,000 as of February 4.
Farcaster, founded by former Coinbase engineer Dan Romero and Varun Srinivasan in 2020, describes itself as a “sufficiently decentralized” social network.
Warpcast is a social media application, or client, built on top of the Farcaster network.
Meanwhile, Friend.tech, which launched and dominated the decentralized social media sector in 2023, saw diminished activity and user interest.
Daily transactions on the platform have plummeted more than 97% from all-time highs reached in August.
