X Post by Satoshi
On Thursday, January 18, 2024, a post was made through this account stating, Hello world, perceived to be the comeback of Satoshi over the platform as it was the first post in six years.
Reaction to the Post
Although the post was just a normal greeting to the world, it caught the eyes of all the crypto enthusiasts and community in a very short time. For the very first hour, viewers were expecting it to be the real Satoshi but the dream was broken soon.
An anonymous user, “Funny Beech Conebill,” submitted a note stating that the post was made by someone else and that it is possible that either the account is hacked or someone else is pretending to be Satoshi.
Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan, recently mispronounced Satoshi as Satashi. As a response, many of the Twitter users started mockingly referring to this name.
Who controlled the Satoshi X account?
Craig S. Wright is claimed to be the person who lied about being Satoshi Nakamoto and also lied under oath. He reportedly also controlled this X account at some point in time. It was supposed that he lost control of the account, but it was later known that this was just speculation.
Andy Rowe is also believed to share access to the X account registered as Satoshi. The post was also linked to Rowe’s claim of getting this account hacked on January 1, 2024. It was assumed that account hackers had posted this.
Sale of the Twitter Account
As per the statements of Rowe and the Satoshi account, hackers of the account sold it, used X support to gain access to the account again, and then resold it.
On January 16, 2024, the account probably made Andy Rowe an offer of $100,000 to buy it back. However, it also claimed that Wright purchased the account from its previous owner in 2018.
