Taylor Swift Is The First Living Artist To Chart 5 Top 10 Albums Simultaneously

Taylor Swift is no stranger to breaking records and managing feats few others–if anyone–have accomplished before. This week is no different, as the singer scores a huge win on the Billboard charts–one which only a single other artist has managed in the past.

This week, Swift claims five spaces inside the top 10 on the Billboard 200, the chart that ranks the most-consumed albums in the U.S.

According to Billboard, Swift is the first living artist to dominate the top 10 on the Billboard 200 in this fashion. The only other star to do so before her was Prince. The rocker filled five spaces inside the highest tier on the chart the week following his death, as fans rushed to support the late musician.

This week, Swift returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with her latest release, 1989 (Taylor’s Version). The title shoots back to the summit, moving more than 140,000 equivalent units. It has now lived in first place on the tally for three nonconsecutive frames.

The singer’s 2022 album Midnights–her last recording of all original material–also gains, lifting to No. 3. Swift fills three spots inside the top five, as Folklore hikes to No. 5.

In the lower half of the Billboard 200’s top 10, Swift occupies two more spots. Lover is up from No. 8 to No. 6 this frame. Finally, her winning streak comes to an end with Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). That set bolts from No. 17 to No. 10, which comes months after it debuted at No. 1.

In May 2016, Prince became the first musical act to fill half of the rungs inside the top 10 on the Billboard 200. Sadly, he didn’t live to see his success, but he still managed to make history nonetheless. That frame, Prince ruled over the top 10 with the following projects: The Very Best of Prince (No. 2), the Purple Rain soundtrack (No. 3), The Hits/The B-Sides (No. 4), Ultimate (No. 6), and 1999 (No. 7).
