On Thursday, the cryptocurrency app Strike announced a huge broadening of its services. In a post published on Thursday, Strike’s founder Jack Mallers revealed the company’s international expansion. Users in 36 countries (soon to be 65+) outside the United States may now use the app to purchase bitcoin.
As part of its “Better Money” endeavour, Strike emphasized in its statement that it regards BTC as a transformational force. To realise its mission of making the globe financially accessible to everybody, the firm emphasised its growth into new markets.
Strategic Expansion
Providing consumers with the ability to convert between fiat like the USD and cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, which need payment rails like wire transfers and ACH transfers, is a major hurdle for the crypto industry as a whole.
Among other efforts announced, Strike is teaming with crypto payments business Bitrefill, which leverages the Lightning Network (Bitcoin’s secondary payment layer), in order to enable worldwide customers to make common transactions rapidly and practically free of charge.
With these new advancements, more people will be able to use the Strike app to buy and sell Bitcoin. Users in countries other than the United States may now use the Send Globally feature to initiate cross-currency payments.
Mallers stated:
“We’re rolling out a highly anticipated feature that Bitcoiners worldwide have requested for years. Now, Strike users around the globe can experience the ease of buying bitcoin directly through our platform.”
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $36,427, down 2.90% in the last 24 hours as per data from CoinMarketCap.
