Binance Academy and the Blockchain Center have come together to launch a global initiative known as “The Global University Outreach Program.” Originally initiated in Kazakhstan, this program has ambitious goals to integrate Web3 education into the curricula of more than 200 universities in over 50 countries, with a primary focus on blockchain engineering and compliance.

The program’s broader vision is to provide specialized training to over 1,000 university educators and create a comprehensive knowledge bank for academic institutions to seamlessly incorporate blockchain engineering and compliance courses into their existing programs. The ultimate aim is to educate over one million students by 2026.

Aidana Kaskyrbek, CEO and founder of the Blockchain Center has expressed their commitment to fostering talent in the blockchain industry and highlighted the potential for aspiring professionals to explore, experiment, and innovate within the field.

This educational initiative comprises two programs: Blockchain Engineering and Blockchain Compliance. The Blockchain Engineering track equips learners with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to excel as blockchain engineers. The 20-week course covers various aspects of blockchain development, including BNB Chain fundamentals, Web3, and Solidity development.

The 13-week Blockchain Compliance program focuses on understanding the intersection of blockchain and regulatory policy. It delves into global regulatory frameworks, legal challenges, and potential future governance models for digital assets.

In selecting universities for this initiative, the Blockchain Center employs a comprehensive methodology that assesses their engagement with blockchain technology and the supportive socio-economic framework for its adoption in regions across Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Binance Academy, with its extensive network of educational institutions and educators globally, plays a crucial role in expanding the Global University Outreach Program. They plan to enhance the educational experience by hosting guest lectures with industry experts and thought leaders.

“In the rapidly changing world of digital finance, blockchain education is a key pillar for driving transformation,” said Yi He, co-founder of Binance. “Through this educational initiative, Binance Academy and Blockchain Center will cultivate a new generation of skillful talents poised to propel our industry forward and ignite innovation. Let’s keep building.”

The Global University Outreach Program builds upon the successful pilot in Kazakhstan, where blockchain fundamentals were integrated into the curricula of 22 universities, making it the world’s largest academic initiative in blockchain. The collaboration between the Blockchain Center and Binance Academy has already trained hundreds of educators, and thousands of Kazakhstani students have embarked on their blockchain studies this fall.
