Shiba Inu’s L2 blockchain Shibarium sees a massive increase in user activity as reflected in different aspects of the network.
Shibarium, the L2 blockchain of Shiba Inu, has continued to see a massive spike in user activity, as reflected in the number of active accounts.
It bears mentioning that Shibarium has performed well within its short time of existence. Recall that the network launched on August 16 before entering a fail-safe mode due to a technical issue that emanated from an influx of users.
The Shiba Inu team relaunched Shibarium on August 28 after a successful scaling operation that lasted over a week. Since its relaunch, the network has continued to record significant successes in different aspects, including transactions and new account creation.

Number of Active Accounts Spike
According to data from Shibariumscan, the number of active accounts has surged from 498 to 783 in one week. Interestingly, this suggests that the number of active accounts on the Shibarium network has increased by 44.96% over the past seven days.
Despite the surge, the current value is nothing compared to the 1,343 active accounts recorded on September 11.
Furthermore, Shibarium has also recorded a massive uptick in new account creation. As of October 4, the number of new accounts created on the Shibarium sat at around 33 per day.
Interestingly, Shibarium’s new account creation has now jumped to 96 at the time of writing, representing an increase of 190.9%. At press time, Shibarium boasts a total of 26,920 registered accounts.
Total Transaction Approaches 3.4 Million
Interestingly, the surge in active accounts on Shibarium has contributed immensely to the total transactions processed on the network.
The prominent L2 blockchain is just 3,746 transactions away from reaching 3.4 million total transactions. Notably, Shibarium has successfully processed 3,396,254 (3.39 million) transactions, ranging from token transfers to contract calls.
However, the daily transaction count has slumped heavily to around 10.5K. This is a paltry amount compared to the over 200K transactions recorded on September 12.
Shibarium Wallets and Blocks Record Growth
In addition, the number of wallet addresses that have interacted with the L2 blockchain has surpassed 1.25 million. In the hours leading up to press time, Shibarium boasts a total of 1,253,566 (1.25M) addresses.
Also, the top L2 blockchain has now produced a whopping 1,083,150 (1.08 million) blocks, with an average block time of 5.0 seconds.
Number of BONE Staked Plunges
While Shibarium has been experiencing a surge in the number of wallets and transactions, the amount of Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) tokens staked on the network has plummeted.
As reported on September 14, the number of BONE delegated on the network surpassed 27 million. The total BONE staked on Shibarium currently stands at 25,985,226 (25.98 million).
