Eleven suspects have been taken into custody by Hong Kong police as part of investigations into alleged financial fraud at cryptocurrency platform JPEX. The ringleaders are thought to have fled, and police are attempting to establish links between those arrested and the over-the-counter virtual asset money changers involved in the case. Among those detained are social media influencer Joseph Lam Chok, a former barrister-turned-insurance executive, and YouTubers Chan Wing-yee and Chu Ka-fai. Wong Ho-pong, director of the Apestaurant Group, which ran a burger shop offering money-changing services, was also arrested, along with corporate secretary Tsang Cho-shun.
