BTS Will ‘Stay Together In 2025 And Beyond’ After Renewing Contracts

In a move that’s sure to delight their devoted global fanbase, all seven members of the boy band BTS have resigned contracts with their agency, BigHit Music, a label operated by HYBE Corporation. The group’s decision to renew their exclusive contracts underscores their dedication to the company, to each other and to their massive gathering of fans, known as ARMY.

In a statement announcing the plans, the group promised to “stay together in 2025 and beyond.”

BigHit Music confirmed this exciting development with a formal press release, shared with media. The statement reads, in part, “The board of BigHit Music all agreed to renew the exclusive contracts of BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.”

Different members of the band will sign their contracts at different times, as some are busy outside of music. BTS members Jin and J-Hope are presently fulfilling their mandatory military duties, while Suga is preparing to join them in his military service this Friday.

This latest renewal marks the second time the BTS members have extended their contracts with BigHit. The group originally debuted in June 2013, and opted to renew their contracts five years later in October 2018. They did so two years before the completion of their original deal, as K-pop contracts usually run in seven-year increments.

The duration of these new contracts remains unclear, as BigHit Music didn’t reveal how long BTS has signed on for this time around. The label did assure fans that “all of BTS will be together after 2025.”

The news comes as one of the seven singers in BTS, V, scores his first top 10 album in the U.S. outside of his work with the band. His debut EP Layover opens at No. 2 this week on the Billboard 200, making him the fifth member of the group to break into the highest tier on the tally.
