McKinsey and Salesforce Come Together with AI Adoption Plans

As a global consulting agency, McKinsey & Company opened an arm for enterprise software provider Salesforce towards the adoption of generative artificial intelligence (AI). With this collaboration, both firms will work together for sales, marketing, commerce, and service while accelerating the introduction of trusted generative AI.

Moreover, the collaboration is also creating a new end-to-end experience for companies that links a company’s business strategy to AI use cases. It is followed by McKinsey’s rapid solution design with a proof of concept, MVP builds, and the ability to test solutions with users to connect AI products and people systems for full-scale rollout.

AI Power Growth in Different Sectors

On September 7, 2023, McKinsey wrote in its official blog about its recent collaboration. According to its blog, the collaboration “will bring the customer relationship management (CRM) technologies of Salesforce that include Einstein and Data Cloud, along with McKinsey’s proprietary AI and data models, assets and capability building power.”

The collaboration will help companies bring together relevant structured and unstructured data to improve customer buying experiences. It will also enhance sales productivity and personalize digital marketing campaigns while reducing call resolution time.

McKinsey wrote that generative AI is pushing the productivity frontier for economies and companies. It is widely spreading across all industry sectors, especially marketing and sales.

As per its recent research, McKinsey estimates that “generative AI has the potential to unlock $4.4 Trillion global productivity over the next decades. The technology also has the potential to drive a 5 to 15% increase in total marketing spending and a 3-5 percent surge in sales productivity.”

The research of McKinsey also shows that 40% of enterprises are planning to invest in generative AI. This collaboration will “help companies realize measurable results by deploying Salesforce and McKinsey software, data assets, and an implementation methodology that focuses on building generative AI solutions that work at scale.”

Leader’s Talk

Over the collaboration, Lareina Yee, Senior Partner, McKinsey & Company said “Generative AI is a powerful catalyst for growth. But the promise of AI needs to be backed by built-for-growth technology and the operational muscle to fully realize the potential.”

Moreover, Clara Shih, CEO of Salesforce AI, further said “In today’s business landscape, adopting an AI-first approach rooted in trust and transparency isn’t a choice, but a necessity to succeed.”

The blog further added that McKinsey and Salesforce share “a history of collaboration” that helps organizations accelerate digital transformations. It must be noted that the collaboration followed McKinsey’s 2022 acquisition of Salesforce Platinum Partner S4G Consulting.

Meanwhile, it is building on “McKinsey’s recent acquisitions enhancing its AI stack under QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey through Cloud provider, Candid, and scaling AI and Machine Learning Operations specialist Iguazio.”
