The post Thodex Founder Sentenced to 11 Years in Jail for Crypto Fraud! appeared first on Coinpedia Fintech News
Founder of Thodex, Faruk Fatih Ozer, has been sentenced to over 11,000 years in jail for crimes including fraud, leading a criminal organization, and money laundering. Thodex collapsed earlier this year, leaving over 390,000 users unable to access their funds. Ozer fled the country with $2 billion worth of cryptocurrency but was eventually arrested in Albania and extradited back to Turkey. The lengthy jail sentences are unlikely to be served in full, however, due to Turkey’s maximum sentence limit of 30 years for multiple counts of the same crime.
