Crypto TV series: New reality show aims to bring cryptocurrencies to the mainstream

A new crypto TV series debuts this week: The Next Crypto Gen”.

The new reality show will see 16 crypto contestants compete for an estimated prize pool of $150,000. In addition, the judges will include industry influencers such as Brian D. Evans, Layah Heilpern, George Tung and “BitBoy Crypto”.

According to the executive producer of the new crypto TV series, Jett Tang, the aim is to bring crypto to a mainstream audience through teamwork, rivalry, larger-than-life characters and out-of-the-box ideas.

Not only that, Tang claims that “The Next Crypto Gen” will truly showcase cryptocurrencies, making them interesting and even entertaining topics.

Crypto TV series: six weeks of cryptocurrency challenges for the 16 contestants

From this first week, The Next Crypto Gen will see six more weeks of cryptocurrency challenges for the 16 contestants to overcome in order to win the final jackpot.

Tang shared that the first episode’s challenge will involve people “less likely to understand crypto and more hostile to crypto”. The contestants will then be divided into four teams, who will have to prove that they can explain the basics of blockchain to “no coiners” in order to win the challenge.

The producers have also said that there will be a fully educational moment, dubbed ‘The Big Short’, where the judges will step in to explain key crypto terms and concepts.

Certainly, the new crypto TV series will not lack for the show element, if only because it will feature characters who have been much criticised in the crypto industry, such as Ben Armstrong himself, the former face of BitBoy Crypto.

BitBoy Crypto and Ben Armstrong’s dismissal for drug abuse

Recently, the official BitBoy Crypto channel, whose face has always been associated with YouTuber Ben Armstrong, announced that it had fired Armstrong himself.

The reason given was his drug abuse, which had allegedly caused financial, emotional and physical damage to the entire company.

In essence, Armstrong is being removed from the company and the BitBoy Crypto brand. The decision was made by BJ Investment Holdings and its parent company, Hit Network, through a strong legal action.

The company also pointed out that it had been helping Armstrong with his relapse for a long time, but apparently that was not enough.
