Today’s Wordle #802 Hints, Clues And Answer For Wednesday, August 30th

It’s the second to last day of August. What a blur this year has been. What a blur these last few have been, though, if we’re being honest, it’s all a blur. My memory is a valley draped heavy with fog. I walk along its edges and rarely glance down.

Time is the plateau and time is the vale. Our lives stretch out into the yawning prairie, and lay buried behind us in shadow. There, in the distance . . . the mountains, or perhaps the sea. The end of the road, no matter.

I am called to mind a haiku by W.H. Auden:

Thoughts of his own death,

like the distant roll

of thunder at a picnic.

And I’ve rambled long enough, and in such gloomy fashion. It’s Wordle Wednesday which means I’m doling out yet another riddle. Here goes . . .

George, Helen, and Steve are drinking coffee. Bert, Karen, and Dave are drinking Pepsi. Following this pattern, is Elizabeth drinking coffee or soda?

Wordle Bot Analysis

After each Wordle I solve I head over to the Wordle Bot homepage to see how my guessing game was.

I thought I might start today’s guessing game out with the word booty (don’t ask) but instead went with more vowels and chose boats. This ended up being a good move, as it left me with a yellow ‘O’ and a yellow ‘A’ and just 76 words remaining, though I didn’t know that at the time.

I couldn’t quite think of any words that used these two letters in the other order, so I decided I’d try something that began with ‘A’ and chose adore, which got me a green ‘A’ and a brand new yellow box with ‘D’. Turns out, this left me with just one option and I eventually sorted it out. Audio for the win! Huzzah!

Today’s Score

Another good day today. I get 1 point for guessing in three and 1 point for beating Wordle Bot who guessed in four. 2 points! Double huzzah!
