Aptos Unveils 8 Projects Chosen for Move Accelerator Program

 Key highlights:

  • The Aptos blockchain has selected the first 8 startups for its Move Accelerator program run in partnership with Outlier Ventures.
  • The selected startups represent a diverse mix of use cases like infrastructure, DeFi, gaming, NFTs, and more. They have the potential to significantly expand Aptos’ ecosystem if successful.
  • The accelerator provides funding, mentorship, and resources over 12 weeks to help the startups develop their products.

The Aptos blockchain has announced the first cohort of projects selected for its Move Accelerator program in partnership with Outlier Ventures. The 12-week program aims to accelerate development on Aptos by supporting promising startups building with the Move programming language.

An accelerator tailored for Aptos and Move

In February 2023, the Aptos Foundation and Outlier Ventures launched the Aptos x Outlier Move Accelerator to nurture projects that will shape the future of Web3 using Aptos and Move.

Outlier Ventures is a Web3 venture capital firm with extensive experience running accelerator programs. Aptos is providing its expertise on Move, a new blockchain programming language designed for safety, security, and scalability.

The accelerator offers funding, tailored mentorship, networking opportunities, and more to selected projects over 12 weeks. Participants gain support across areas like product development, community building, fundraising, and legal compliance.

Meet the first cohort

On August 2nd, Aptos revealed the 8 projects chosen for the inaugural cohort:

  • Aptos Arcade– A Web3 game studio building an on-chain gaming engine for Aptos.
  • ArmurAI– An AI-powered security infrastructure platform.
  • Duo– An Ethereum-compatible blockchain optimized for gaming by using Aptos.
  • Move Flow– A programmable payment protocol with flexible transaction rules.
  • SendInAir– A decentralized NFT war game on Aptos.
  • SwapGPT– An AI DeFi aggregator and liquidity manager.
  • Wapal– A no-code NFT creator studio, launchpad, and marketplace.
  • Yours– An NFT enterprise solution for customer loyalty programs.

The selected projects represent a diverse mix of infrastructure tooling, DeFi, gaming, AI, NFTs, and more.

Why Aptos and Move matter

The Aptos x Outlier Move Accelerator aims to demonstrate the benefits of building on Aptos using Move.

As Outlier Ventures discusses, Aptos and Move allow developers to create Web3 applications with enhanced scalability, security, and usability compared to alternatives like Ethereum.

For example, Move’s focus on safety prevents bugs like the 2016 DAO hack on Ethereum. Aptos’ design choices improve performance. And its emphasis on mainstream usability aims to onboard the next generation of users to Web3.

Accelerating the Aptos Ecosystem

Introducing promising new projects is critical for expanding Aptos’ ecosystem. As Bashar Lazaar of Aptos Labs told BSC News, this first cohort “exemplifies the potential for broadening the utility, accessibility, and scalability of use cases” on Aptos.

With the accelerator cohort now underway, Aptos can nurture these startups into active contributors to its growing ecosystem. Their success will demonstrate the strengths of building on Aptos with Move to the wider Web3 community.

Aptos Long-Term Price Prediction

The announcement came amidst a bearish trend for APT, the native token of Aptos, which is down 4.70% over the past 7 days. CoinCodex’s price prediction estimates APT will continue to trade between $5.82 and $7.70 in the short term.

The next 12 weeks will be an exciting period of growth for both the startups and Aptos itself. We can look forward to seeing their progress at the program’s Digital Demo Day, as these projects work to shape the future of the blockchain industry.
