US Presidential Candidate Says XRP Will Take Top Spot from Bitcoin When it Trades $11

2024 US Presidential candidate Patrick Riley predicts XRP will dethrone Bitcoin as the top cryptocurrency, sparking varied sentiments.

In a recent tweet, Patrick Riley, the 2024 Republican US Presidential Candidate, confidently declared that XRP would dethrone Bitcoin (BTC) as the top cryptocurrency.

Riley argued that with XRP trading at just $11, it would outstrip Bitcoin in its long-standing market dominance. The US presidential candidate proclaimed it was not a matter of if but rather ‘when,’ calling on the XRP community to guess when the seismic shift could occur.

Varied Sentiments From XRP Community

While Riley’s prediction sparked intrigue, it also drew skepticism from some observers. A commentator noted that such a development has never been witnessed before, making it challenging to predict when or if it would ever happen.

This Twitter user implied that no coin ever overthrew Bitcoin regarding market cap. However, Riley replied that such an event took place briefly in 2017. Notably, XRP was only able to flip Ethereum in 2017.

Another commenter expressed further skepticism, suggesting that if XRP could climb up to $11, BTC would also rise, putting up a fierce battle. He added that XRP would instead be correlated with Bitcoin regarding growth performance.

In response, Riley hinted at a divergence from following BTC’s trajectory. “I’m not sure we’ll be following BTC much longer,” Riley stated confidently, hinting at a potential decoupling of the two cryptocurrencies.

This is not the first time Patrick Riley has expressed strong beliefs about XRP’s potential. In a previous tweet, he presented a poll asking his followers to vote between two options for the global reserve currency: the Japanese Yen (BRICS by Biden) and XRP (Ripple by Riley).

The poll results left no room for doubt, with 95.7% of the 323 total votes favoring XRP as the preferred choice.

XRP vs. Bitcoin Maxis

Notably, the growing momentum behind XRP’s rise has not gone unnoticed by the broader crypto community. CryptoBull, a well-known XRP advocate, recently looked at BTC maximalists who had once predicted that XRP would plummet to zero.

An XRP enthusiast quoted Riley’s tweet in reply to CryptoBull’s post and expressed unwavering confidence in XRP’s potential. He stated that the day XRP overtakes BTC would baffle the skeptics. He playfully suggested that the doubters could find comfort in El Salvador’s pro-Bitcoin president.
