Taylor Swift’s reign over the Billboard charts continues to reach new heights as her latest album, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), and the songs featured on the set dominate the weekly rankings. With a string of new wins on the Hot 100 singles tally, Swift has achieved a significant milestone, once again underlining her position among the most successful artists in history.
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) makes an impressive impact on the Hot 100 this week, with all 22 songs from the album debuting simultaneously. Intense streaming activity has helped the most, but fans also purchased the songs individually enough that many of them will likely also hit several purchase-only tallies soon enough.
By adding 22 new chart entries to her discography, Swift’s career count now stands at an impressive 212 appearances on the Hot 100, enough to grant her the second-most entries of all time. In a single moment, Swift jumped her previous tally of 190 placements, reaching the coveted milestone of over 200 chart hits for the first time.
With these new Hot 100 smashes, Swift becomes only the third artist in history to surpass the 200 mark. This week, she surpasses the cast of the TV show Glee, who achieved 207 Hot 100 hits during their time together, and who now sit in third place on the esteemed list of the musical acts with the most appearances on the tally.
Swift still trails behind the leader of the pack by a significant margin, and she may never catch up. Holding the title of the most Hot 100 hits of all time is the Canadian rapper Drake. His impressive record of 296 chart entries may never be beaten, and he may never be caught. With regular music releases and an upcoming album in the pipeline, Drake is on the cusp of reaching the monumental milestone of 300 placements on the Hot 100, and he’ll likely become the first to reach that mark soon.
This week alone, Swift claims a staggering 25% of all spaces on the Hot 100. Alongside her 22 new charting tunes from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), her previous hits “Karma” and “Anti-Hero” from the album Midnights, as well as her smash hit “Cruel Summer” from Lover, continue to hold strong positions on the Hot 100 as well.
