Summary
Friday was quite a day for the stock market. Before the opening bell, a slew of large Financial sector companies reported better-than-expected results and were all seeing nice premarket gains. That helped stock futures rise, leading to decent gains for the major indices until about 10:15 a.m. But most of the gains in the Financial stocks fizzled quickly, with many eventually ending lower for the sessions and far off their early-day levels.
