As Jung Kook Goes Solo, His BTS Bandmate Jimin Is Still Sharing New Music As Well

On Friday (July 14) Jung Kook, one of the sensational members of the global phenomenon BTS, took a leap into the world making music on his own with the release of his highly-anticipated single “Seven.” Fans worldwide eagerly awaited this release, and “Seven” soared to the top of the iTunes chart within hours of its release, racking up huge sales and amassing millions of streams in its first day alone. The music video accompanying the single also became a trending topic, as millions tuned in to check it out.

Understandably, much of the attention at this moment from BTS fans is currently focused on Jung Kook’s solo venture. However, he is not the only member of the group who has been actively sharing new music with the world. Jimin, another one of the seven members of BTS, has been consistently delivering fresh takes on his recent tracks, including very recently…even if it went unnoticed by some.

Just a day before Jung Kook’s solo release, Jimin unveiled a new acoustic rendition of his single “Angel Pt. 2.” This stripped-down version showcases a different side of the track and hopefully giving people a reason to stream it once more…and this is not the first time Jimin has shared an alternative edition of the song.

Since the original release of “Angel Pt. 2” in mid-June, Jimin and his collaborators Jvke, Muni Long, and Charlie Puth have treated fans to both the original version and a sped-up rendition, specifically tailored to thrive on the popular social media platform TikTok. Now, there are three takes available.

“Angel Pt. 2” itself is a reworking of its predecessor, “Angel Pt. 1,” which made its debut in mid-May. The initial release featured a slightly different lineup, with rappers Kodak Black and NLE Choppa fronting the tune, though they were later replaced by Puth.

Jimin is having an explosive 2023, and “Angel” is just one part of his success story. He recently unveiled his debut solo EP, Face, which birthed the smash hit “Like Crazy.” The single skyrocketed to the coveted No. 1 position on the Hot 100 chart, helping Jimin prove his power and make history. A short time later, “Angel Pt. 1” also found its place on the charts, albeit at a slightly lower position.

While the spotlight currently shines on Jung Kook as he begins his exciting new solo era, it is interesting to witness two members of the same band simultaneously promoting their solo endeavors. Jimin’s alternative versions of his recent single may not be garnering as much attention at this moment, given the overwhelming focus on Jung Kook’s debut, but this unique situation highlights the camaraderie and support within BTS, as they cheer each other on while also aiming for chart supremacy.
