Everything You Need To Know About Amazon Prime Day 2023 — What To Look For And What To Avoid

The biggest sale of the summer is almost upon us. Prime Day, Amazon’s big online summer sale, is actually two days now, but Prime Days just doesn’t have the same ring to it. The highly-anticipated event is for Amazon Prime members only, and spans 48 hours across Tuesday, July 11th and Wednesday, July 12th.

Prime Day begins at 3am ET / midnight PT on July 11 and will run through July 12th.

Amazon isn’t the only retailer getting in on the sale frenzy. Best Buy’s Black Friday in July sale starts on the 10th and runs through the 12th. Walmart+ Week goes from now until the 13th. Target Circle Week will have deals spanning the 9th through the 15th. Other retailers, like Macy’s and Wayfair, will also have big sales. It’s a good time to buy stuff, basically, if you have the itch.

The best deals out there right now are mostly on consumer tech gadgets rather than gaming consoles or big-screen TVs which will see much better discounts in the holiday season and Black Friday. which will see much better discounts in the holiday season and Black Friday. You might find some good deals on gaming accessories like headsets and game controllers, but your best bet is to wait for Black Friday on larger gaming purchases.

Apparel, back-to-school supplies and home supplies and gadgets like vacuums are also going to see steep discounts. If you’re in the market for a new wallet, new shoes, a backpack or pencils, Prime Day is a good day to shop.

For Amazon Prime members, Amazon-branded items (clothing, household goods, etc.) will see big sales. Kindles, Fire Tablets, phone accessories and more will be deeply discounted as well. Homes security devices, digital doorbells, and cameras should also be in your crosshairs.
