Seventeen Dominate The South Korean Charts With Nine Of The Top 10 Bestselling Albums

Seventeen continues to solidify their position as one of the bestselling bands in the world, but not only with new studio efforts. With each release, they effortlessly climb to the top of the charts in their home country. Now, once again, the group is dominating the sales rankings in South Korea, but this time, it’s with music fans have been listening to for years.

Recently, Seventeen made a bold move by re-releasing a number of their albums that had been out of print for quite some time. Their label, Pledis Entertainment, a subsidiary of HYBE, took the initiative to bring back eight collections, and the response from fans has been overwhelming.

The re-released albums include eight titles originally released between 2015 and 2018. Fans can now get their hands on these albums, which include all versions and even the extra goodies that were included with them at the time of their initial release.

The impact of Seventeen’s re-released albums was immediate and impressive. According to the Hanteo Charts, which tracks real-time sales in South Korea, the band claims nine out of the top 10 bestselling albums in the country on the day of the re-release, Monday, June 26. All eight of the just-shared out of print titles secured a spot within the top 10, along with the band’s recent drop, FML.

Leading the pack is their album Teen,Age, which sold an astounding 162,000 copies on that very day. Following closely behind is Al1, taking the third spot with just under 103,000 copies sold. FML takes the fourth position, boasting an additional 65,000 copies purchased. Love & Letter lands in fifth place, having sold 56,000 copies.

What makes this accomplishment even more remarkable is the fact that these albums are not new releases. They are several years old, and many fans already own them or have access to the music through alternative means. Despite this, the unwavering dedication from Seventeen’s fan base is truly incredible, and they don’t mind purchasing these EPs and albums again—or perhaps discovering older cuts for the first time.
